History Pills:
Through the streets and squares of Florence still echo the footsteps of Dante, Boccaccio, Machiavelli, Cimabue, Taddeo Gaddi, Arnolfo di Cambio, Galileo Galilei, Michelangelo, Brunelleschi, Botticelli, Donatello, Giotto, Masaccio, Leonardo. A Middle Ages and Renaissance rich in creativity and art that still emanate from every corner of the city.
Florence was founded by the Romans in 59 BC. A city of artisans and merchants from the very beginning, it continued to prosper even through invasions, but it was with the Signorie of the Middle Ages that the power and fame of Florence grew between 1000 and 1400; a huge number of artisans flourished: blacksmiths, leather workers, carpenters, shoemakers, weavers, goldsmiths. Guilds were born (including that of the Ciompi, the most modest and hardworking). Guelphs and Ghibellines and then the Medici Grand Dukes of Tuscany, and for three centuries Florence reached its greatest artistic and commercial splendor. In the 1700s the Lorraine for another two centuries until the annexation to the Kingdom of Italy in 1860.
Every item we create is imbued with the history of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance: they recall it in their symbols, in the stories told, and in the ancient and skillful crafting techniques.

Renaissance in Florence
The history of Florence is so dense and rich with events and changes that it is still studied today with passion and dedication. History lovers, professors, historians, and students of modern archaeology cannot help but be fascinated by Florence's past. What to give these lovers of days gone by? Our objects preserve the style and construction methods of the past: wood, leather, and paper in the style and appearance of ancient Florentine objects. Table clocks, pendulum clocks, music boxes, and small chests in Renaissance style stand out in the entrance and shop windows. We have even decorated the exterior with leaves and flowers to recreate the rich, decorative Renaissance style of Florentine antiquities.
Middle Ages in Florence
The Florin is the emblem of this prosperous period for the city. A coin, used for decades, that became the first "euro" of the past. Also used in Europe, the Florin coin bore the pressed Lily symbol of Florence, and the ancient name of the city "Florentia." We have made Florentine florin leather patches, and we use them as the final decoration for our leather notebooks and the Graphite Box. Those who have been fascinated in their studies by Florence's influence in the Italian medieval period will not be able to resist the reproductions of the florin, the medieval-style leather tool holders, and the decorated leather pouches and bags.
