When you have little time and only a few days available, it can be difficult to decide what to see and do in a city like Florence! It's small, but it hides priceless treasures that you absolutely must not miss in every little street! On this blog, we give you advice on what, in our opinion as Florentines, you can't miss during a visit to Florence on a holiday or a trip: from the most beautiful and famous museums to the enchanting places you absolutely have to see!
Do you really have little time? The wonder of Florence can also be enjoyed from the streets! If there are no works or artists you absolutely want to see, the tour we recommend avoids wasting time in lines and avoids too many museums, each of which requires 1 or 2 hours to visit. Dedicate yourself to experiencing the city, discovering its most beautiful views. Start from the Central Station SMN and in 2 minutes you can reach the first stop:
Typical Tuscan dishes cooked with love and care for over 20 years. One of the best trattorias where you can eat Bistecca alla Fiorentina, Trippa, Ribollita, and Crostini Fegatini, cooked and served by real Florentine hands. You can find it right in the center of Florence, at Piazza del Mercato Centrale 38, in the San Lorenzo district near the Duomo, just a stone's throw from our shop!
Well, since we have an extra day, we can treat ourselves to even more beauties: discover the must-see places in Florence in 2 days:
On Via dei Leoni, with windows overlooking Palazzo Vecchio, an apartment for 4 people in true "Florentine style". The marvel of ancient Florentine palaces, the finely restored stone walls, the ceilings with exposed beams from the past. And all the hospitality of a true Florentine woman who will explain to you the places, museums, and curiosities of Florence not to be missed!
Now yes, you can visit the Uffizi. Only if you stay at least 3 days. Why? Because the line to get in can last even an hour, and inside, 2 hours are not enough to enjoy everything. And once you leave, you will be exhausted!
Among the Historic Florentine Establishments, exhibited and exported to the MoMA in New York, this gelateria has made the history of Florentine gelato since 1939! At via dei Tavolini 19, only fresh and top-quality ingredients: only eggs, milk, cream, sugar combined with seasonal fruit, chocolate, dried fruit, spices, and many other genuine top-choice products. You will never taste gelato like this again, word of Florentines!
If you have 5 days, take a little more time to visit all the wonders we've already listed, maybe spread them out over 4 days, so you'll be able to enjoy them much more! For the fifth day, I suggest:
For lovers of Shots and improbable, never-before-seen Cocktails, this is a must-stop! Right in the nightlife center of Florence, on via dell'Oriuolo 5, under the famous Arco di San Pierino, with seating inside and out... but the owner's excitement and enthusiastic shouts will fill you with so much happiness that you won't be able to stay seated! A must try!

And now that you still have energy left to see Florence, don't forget to discover the beauties of Typical Florentine Handicrafts! In the shadow of the Duomo, our Workshop preserves the medieval and Renaissance beauties of Historic Florence. Rediscover the past, tradition, history and... yourself in Florentine wood, leather, and paper!
Florence Tourism
Florence is among the most famous cities in the world, whether to live in, to study in, or to visit on vacation or as a tourist. It is a small, human-scale city, perfect for getting around on foot, by bicycle, or by bus. More than small, we could say it is "concentrated": it has everything, in just a few square kilometers. In the historic center alone, you can find high fashion shops, second-hand clothing stores, restoration workshops, stationery stores, hardware stores, art studios, luthier shops, and hidden wonders in every corner. It hosts the wealthiest and most famous schools of Arts, Music, and Languages, as well as renowned free universities, which makes the city even more fascinating.
Tourists by Chance
For those used to large, new, and modern cities where tall skyscrapers soar, Florence might almost seem like a small amusement park, purpose-built to simulate the ancient streets of the Renaissance. A pearl of rare beauty and full of little wonders, hidden details in every small street. Walking through Florence should be done with attentive eyes everywhere: walls, roofs, balconies, even the street bricks called "sanpietrini," the beautiful wrought iron street lamps, and even the decorated trash bins.
What to Do in Florence in a Few Days
Tourists on vacation or traveling in Florence? Even Florentines themselves often remain tourists for life. Every time I walk through my historic center, I discover little details I had never noticed before. On this blog, I list what I, as a Florentine, and the people I know, love most about Florence, the best places to see and the most beautiful things to do during a vacation, a short trip, or a quick visit. All the places, churches, and museums we would never want to miss if we had only a few days in this beautiful city. If we had only one day, it would really be a shame: you can just barely taste the wonder, history, and tradition of this city, but you certainly never forget it. Of course, there are so many things to see and do, a lifetime is not enough to enjoy them all. With a few more days, 2 or 3, you can already appreciate the details much better, you can immerse yourself in the art and spirit of the city. From the 5th day on, we can finally start to feel satisfied with what we've managed to see, among museums, churches, and art corners... or maybe it's right now that we realize how many other things there are to do that we won't be able to see. And we'll just want to come back for another trip.
